Best Compliment

My Mom was always unsatisfied with all the facial features God has gifted me. She has very stunning set of eyes and she always wanted me to inherit her features especially her eyes. Almost twice or thrice a day I use to hear "Raja, you really have little eyes, you would have looked better if you would have inherited my set of eyes". Hearing the same thing almost every day nullified everything other compliment. I started poking my friends with the question that if I really have very small eyes like that of rat. Unaware of the context of the question their answers were something from nice to beautiful.

Years passed by and was still hearing the same thing until one day when everything changed. Since I was poor at Mathematics, my parents decided to send me to extra classes to the most scary and iron-fisted teacher Mrs. Pal. I was scared to death to attend her classes. On the first day which later on proved to be the most memorable day, was asked to sit beside her. She took my notebook wrote a question for me to solve. Was all set to give a never ending impression of the most intelligent student in the batch by solving the given question in no time and totally overlooked the blunder of taking 3, instead of 2. Ma'am, I solved the question, she turned towards me and asked me to show the solution. While she was busy looking at the solution for few seconds, I noticed the changes in her expression and realized that the solution was erroneous. Suddenly a horn poked out of her head, her nails grew long and eyeballs popped out. She threw the notebook on the floor and said, Lalita God gave you two LARGE EYES like that of a Tarsier Monkey and still you fail differentiate between the  numbers 2 and 3. The very next moment Single Horned Monster turned into a fairy. Her words were like Cadbury's Dairy milk. Since, that very day she is one of my top Favorite teachers in the school and I continued her Mathematics classes throughout my high school.

I still love her  :D
